Moonstone, pearl and alexandrite - stones of people born in June
Stone lovers, let's dive into the fascinating world of gemstones associated with June birthdays! Your personal stones include moonstone, pearl, and alexandrite.
Where moonlight caresses the surface of silence, moonstone is born – the bearer of gentleness, feminine intuition and nocturnal peace. Its silvery sheen brings inner balance, quiets a wandering mind and opens the way to soothing dreams.
From the depths of the ocean emerges a pearl – a symbol of purity, silence and depth of the soul. It calms emotions like calm water below the surface, helping to accept oneself and the world as it is.
And then there is alexandrite – a stone of transformation that changes color according to the light, just as dreams change face according to our inner self. It is a stone of magic, inner strength and the courage to walk through the darkness to the light.
Moonstone is an alternative gift for the 13th wedding anniversary, alexandrite is a traditional gift for the 55th anniversary and an alternative to the 45th anniversary, pearl is traditionally associated with the 3rd, 30th and together with diamond with the 80th wedding anniversary and alternatively with the 1st, and 12th anniversaries . Moonstone – meaning and history
Moonstone – Moonstone is considered a stone of intuition, emotions and feminine energy . It is a symbol of:
- peace and inner harmony,
- protection during travel,
- awakening of intuition and subconsciousness,
- peaceful sleep,
- a traditional talisman of fertility, childbirth and emotions.
It is often associated with the moon, femininity, the lunar cycle, and dreams . In energy work, it is used to promote gentleness, healing emotional wounds, and deep sleep.
Its name is derived from its appearance, from the so-called adularescence, an effect of iridescent shine that resembles moonlight. The optical phenomenon is named after the locality of Adula in Switzerland (Adulské Aply, Adula is a name derived from Italian), where the stone was previously mined and we can also find its older name – adulár. You can learn how to identify moonstone in our article.
History
- In ancient India, moonstone was considered a sacred and magical stone , formed from solidified moonlight.
- The Romans believed that it really carried the light of the moon - its shine (so-called adularescence) was for them proof of divine origin.
- In ancient Arabia, women would place moonstone in their clothes as protection during pregnancy .
- In the Art Nouveau era (especially in the jewelry of René Lalique), it experienced a renaissance as a stone of mystery and beauty.

Pearls have timeless symbolism. For centuries, pearls have been considered a symbol of:
- purity , wisdom and femininity ,
- inner peace and balance ,
- transformations of pain into beauty (due to their origin inside the shells),
- truth and honesty – according to legends, a pearl never “lies”.
In an energetic and spiritual sense:
- calm emotions , promote self-love and self-acceptance,
- strengthen intuition and connection with the "inner voice",
- they are associated with the moon and water elements , especially in women.
They were already used in ancient China and India, where they were valued as "pearls of the Gods" and were an amulet against impurity and disease.
The Egyptians considered them a symbol of divine power and beauty. The Greeks and Romans loved pearls as a sign of love and marriage. In the Middle Ages, pearls were valued as a spiritual stone of modesty , often given to brides. In the Renaissance , they were a sign of luxury and were often worn as talismans against misfortune.
Pearls are formed inside mollusks (most often mother-of-pearl), when a foreign particle gets inside - the mollusk coats it with layers of nacre (organic-inorganic material: mineral aragonite and protein conchiolin), which creates a pearl. Pearls are natural, cultivated, freshwater and marine. They come in different colors: white (purity, new beginnings, innocence, love), pink (emotion, love), gold (wealth, spiritual development), black (Tahitian pearls, mystery, strength, protection).
