Saussurite or sausserite is a mineral found in various shades of green or gray. It was discovered by the Genevan physicist, geologist and naturalist Horace-Bénédict de Saussure (1740 - 1799) on the slopes of the highest mountain in the Alps, Mont Blanc.
It is a mixture of zoisite, epidote, sericite, albite and other feldspars. The mineral is found, for example, in China, India, Australia, etc.
