Pine essential oil: effects, uses and tips for home aromatherapy
BREATHING – REFRESHMENT
Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L., family Pinaceae) is an evergreen coniferous tree growing in Europe and northern Asia, and is native to the Czech Republic. It is often planted in the form of forests.
The essential oil is extracted from the needles, bark, bast and young wood of the pine tree. Its aroma is resinous, woody, and forest-like.
In addition to aromatherapy, you can use it to freshen the air by adding a few drops to cleaning products.
The scent of essential oil is suitable for mixtures used in saunas.
In aromatherapy it is used:
-
to relax the respiratory tract during rhinitis and colds by indirect inhalation (aroma lamp/aroma diffuser),
-
to relieve muscle and joint pain by massage (diluted in almond, sunflower or jojoba oil),
-
to relieve stress and tension, to refresh and encourage.
Notice
The essential oil is not suitable for children under 3 years of age due to possible respiratory irritation. Learn more in our article:Aromatherapy from baby to schoolchild: a guide for parents
Essential oils are used exclusively externally; they must always be diluted on the skin, e.g. in olive, sunflower, jojoba or other oil.
